Emu

We currently have one pair of breeding age emus.  Emus are a member of the ratite family, just like our rhea.  They are native to Australia and are slightly larger than a rhea.  Since they are from the southern hemisphere, they breed and lay eggs in the winter months here in Indiana.  This makes raising them more of a challenge.
